This 2002 BMW M5 spent time in New York and California before the current owner’s acquisition on BaT in January 2024 and now has 40k miles. Subsequent work included repairing the 18? Style 65 wheels, repainting the front bumper cover, and refreshing the xenon headlights. It is powered by a 4.9-liter V8 paired with a six-speed manual transmission and is finished in Jet Black over black Nappa leather upholstery. The car is equipped with a limited-slip differential, a sunroof, fog lights, Park Distance Control, a rear spoiler, heated power-adjustable front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, wood trim, and navigation. This E39 M5 is now offered in California on dealer consignment with spare parts, service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Texas title.

The car is finished in Jet Black with Shadowline trim and features xenon headlights with washers, fog lamps, front and rear parking sensors, a glass sunroof, a trunk lid spoiler, rain-sensing wipers, and quad exhaust outlets. Work in March 2024 included repairing and repainting the front bumper cover, performing paintwork on the hood and fenders, applying window tint, removing dings, and replacing the windshield gasket, front bumper cover trim, and fender liners. The selling dealer reports the headlights were refreshed and a paint correction and ceramic coating were carried out at that time. Photos of paint meter readings are shown in the gallery below.

Chrome Shadow 18? Style 65 wheels were repaired in March 2024 and are mounted with staggered-width Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 tires. The car features Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) with All Season Traction, and braking is handled by four-wheel ventilated discs measuring 13.6? and 12.9? front and rear, respectively. The power steering reservoir and lines are said to have been replaced in June 2023.

The cabin features black Nappa leather covering the heated power-adjustable front sport seats, door panel inserts, center console, and dashboard, while wood trim accents the upper dashboard, center console, and upper doors. Amenities include dual-zone automatic climate control, driver-seat position memory settings, cruise control, and navigation. The trunk lid struts were replaced in February 2024, and a BlueBus Bluetooth module has been added per the selling dealer. The wiring for the car phone has been wrapped, and a phone tray will accompany the car.

The multi-function leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts an M-branded 185-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a variable redline, along with gauges for coolant temperature, oil temperature, and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 40k miles, approximately 400 of which were added under current ownership.

The 4.9-liter S62 V8 is equipped with individual throttle bodies and double-VANOS continuously variable valve timing for a factory-rated output of 394 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. It was modified with a Dinan air intake system under previous ownership. Work in June 2023 is said to have consisted of repairing the VANOS system in addition to replacing the valve cover gaskets. The car passed a California emissions inspection in November 2023.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Getrag six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The clutch and flywheel were replaced in 2021.
