This 2004 Volkswagen R32 was sold new by Heritage Volkswagen of Union City, Georgia, and was reportedly acquired by the current owner in 2006. The car is finished in Black Magic Pearl over black leather upholstery and powered by a 3.2-liter VR6 mated to a six-speed manual transaxle and 4MOTION all-wheel drive. Equipment includes 18? alloy wheels, R32-specific bodywork, a sunroof, H&R springs and sway bars, GIAC engine management software, an aftermarket intake, Bilstein shocks, automatic climate control, cruise control, heated front Konig seats, and an AM/FM CD Stereo. Service since 2019 consisted of replacing the radiator fan, a rear spring bushing, and the fuel pump. This R32 has 143k miles and is offered on dealer consignment in California at no reserve with service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Florida title.
Compared to the contemporary GTI, the R32 features revised bumper covers, side skirts, a rear spoiler, and polished exhaust outlets. This example is finished in Black Magic Pearl (LC9Z) and is equipped with a power-operated sunroof, black side trim, body-color heated and power-adjustable side mirrors, and a rear wiper. The selling dealer states the front bumper cover was replaced in 2012, the hood was repainted in 2009, and paintwork has been performed on the left side of the vehicle during current ownership. Blemishes are visible on the rear bumper cover.
Factory 18” Aristo wheels are mounted with 225/40 Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires that show 2016 date codes. Modifications to the suspension include Bilstein shocks as well as H&R springs and sway bars. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with blue-finished calipers over slotted rotors at all four corners. A rear spring bushing was replaced in 2020.
The heated Konig front sport seats and a folding rear bench are upholstered in black leather and are complemented by a color-coordinated dashboard, carpets, and door panels. The R32 also received aluminum trim, R32-branded door-sill guards, and aluminum pedal covers. R-branded floor mats line the footwells, and amenities include automatic climate control, cruise control, power-operated windows and door locks, and an AM/FM CD Stereo. A tear is visible on the driver’s seat bolster, the front seats are worn, and the headliner is sagging.
A leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts a 180-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The digital odometer indicates over 143k miles, approximately 125k of which have been added during current ownership.
The 3.2-liter VR6 features four valves per cylinder and has been modified with a GruppeM carbon-fiber intake and GIAC engine management software. The radiator fan was replaced in 2019, a replacement fuel pump was installed in May 2021, and an oil change was performed in preparation for the sale.
Power is sent to all four wheels through a six-speed manual transaxle and a Haldex-based 4Motion all-wheel-drive system. Additional underbody photos are included in the gallery below.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia, New Jersey, and California.
