Vehicle Overview

This 1963 Volkswagen Beetle was acquired by the seller in 2008 and is powered by a replacement dual-port 1.6L flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle. The car is finished in red over tan upholstery, and equipment includes 15? alloy wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, ribbed aluminum bumpers, headlight stone guards, a fabric sunroof, an EMPI 40K dual carburetor kit, a Pilot Motorsports muffler, a 12-volt charging system, and a retro-style stereo. Service in July 2023 consisted of adjusting the pedal assembly along with replacing the fuel filters and performing an oil change. This Beetle is now offered on dealer consignment with recent service records and a clean California title.

The body was said to be repainted in the current shade of red under previous ownership and fitted with ribbed aluminum bumpers. Additional exterior details include a sliding fabric sunroof, headlight stone guards, dual mirrors, polished side moldings and window trim, running boards, dual exhaust outlets, and fender-mounted front indicators with clear lenses. A section of paint is missing on the left-front wheel arch.

Five-spoke 15? alloy wheels are mounted with Firestone Firehawk GT H tires measuring 185/55 up front and 215/60 out back. Four-wheel disc brakes are fitted with a tandem brake master cylinder.

The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench covered in tan upholstery that extends to the matching door and trim panels. Replacement beige square weave carpeting lines the floors, and additional appointments include a heater, a passenger-side grab handle, front lap belts, a wooden shift knob, and a retro-style stereo. The pedal assembly was adjusted in July 2023.

The red steering wheel wears a Wolfsburg crest center cap and frames a VDO 90-mph speedometer with recommended shift points, joined by a fuel level gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 74k miles, and the true mileage is unknown.

The front trunk is retrimmed in tan upholstery and houses the fuel tank along with a covered spare wheel and tire.

The replacement dual-port 1.6L flat-four was installed under previous ownership. Equipment includes an EMPI 40mm dual 40K carburetor kit, a 12-volt charging system, a “050” distributor and ignition point set, and a Pilot Motorsports muffler. Service in July 2023 by Get Hot Bug Shop of Pacific Grove, California, included replacing the fuel filters and performing an oil change.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle. The underside is painted black, and additional underbody photos are provided in the gallery.
