This 1967 Ford Mustang fastback was acquired by the current owner in 2014 and subsequently refurbished and modified by Color Glow of Fresno, California. A 427ci stroker V8 crate engine and a Tremec five-speed manual transmission were installed, and a fiberglass body kit was added before a repaint in black with gray stripes. The suspension was modified with Control Freak front control arms, adjustable coilovers, and an independent rear setup with inboard-mounted disc brakes. The interior was re-trimmed in black and fitted with a roll bar, a Lecarra steering wheel, a center console, and a Pioneer AM/FM/CD head unit. Additional equipment includes air conditioning, an Edelbrock Pro-Flo 2 electronic fuel injection system, side-exit exhaust, and power steering. This Mustang fastback is now offered on dealer consignment with build records and a clean California title.
A fiberglass “Eleanor”-style body kit was installed before a repaint in black with gray over-the-top stripes. Exterior details include a bulged hood with exposed locks as well as center-mounted Hella fog lights, side-exit exhaust outlets, bullet-style side mirrors, a Le Mans-style fuel filler cap, a rear spoiler, horizontal taillights, and Shelby GT500 and 427 badging. Paint chips on the rear bumper are shown up close in the gallery.
American Racing Shelby-style 17” wheels are mounted with 225/45 Pirelli P Zero Nero tires up front and 275/40 Michelin Pilot Sport tires out back. Suspension modifications include adjustable coilovers at all four corners, a Control Freak front strut tower brace and lower control arms, and an independent rear suspension kit. A Unisteer power steering system was also fitted, and braking is handled by power-assisted discs with inboard-mounted Wilwood rear calipers.
The cabin has been re-trimmed in black, and the front bucket seats are emblazoned with Carroll Shelby signatures embroidered in silver. The Lecarra wood-rimmed steering wheel is mounted to a tilting column, and bright metal trim accents the dash and door panels. A roll bar has been added along with an aftermarket center console, and additional appointments include air conditioning, a Pioneer AM/FM/CD head unit, and Cobra-branded floor mats. The battery has been relocated to the trunk.
Replacement instrumentation consists of a 160-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The digital odometer indicates 1,800 miles, which is said to represent the distance added since completion of the build. Total mileage is unknown.
The 427ci stroker V8 crate engine is equipped with an Edelbrock Pro-Flo 2 electronic fuel injection system, an aluminum radiator, a Shelby-brand air cleaner lid, and finned valve covers. Tubular headers flow into a dual exhaust system with Magnaflow mufflers.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec T5 five-speed manual transmission and a Ford 9” rear end with an aluminum differential housing.
The warranty number is consistent with a 1967 Mustang fastback built in San Jose, California, and equipped with a 289ci V8 and a two-barrel carburetor. Decoding the door tag reveals the following information:
