This Porsche 356 Speedster replica is finished in black over tan upholstery and powered by a 1,915cc flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle. Additional equipment includes a black soft top, 15” wheels, headlight stone guards, dual carburetors, front disc brakes, a banjo-style steering wheel, and coco floor mats. This Speedster replica was acquired by its current owner in 2018 and is now offered on dealer consignment with a top boot, side curtains, and a clean California title that lists the car as a 1969 Volkswagen.
The fiberglass body is finished in black and fitted over a shortened Volkswagen Beetle chassis. Features include a black soft top, a left mirror, a single-grille decklid, a reproduction Reutter badge on the right fender, headlight stone guards, dual exhaust outlets, and gold-finished Porsche, 1600 Super, and Speedster badging. A top boot and side curtains will accompany the car, and imperfections in the finish can be viewed in the gallery below.
Chrome-finished 15” steel wheels wear hubcaps adorned with the Porsche crest and are mounted with 165-series Arizonian Premium Metric radial tires. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums.
The cabin features fixed-back bucket seats upholstered in tan, joined by a color-coordinated dash pad and door panels. Lap belts are fitted along with coco floor mats.
The banjo-style steering wheel frames a 130-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 5,500-rpm redline, and a combination gauge. The six-digit odometer shows 20k miles, approximately 3,000 of which have been added under current ownership.
The 1,915cc flat-four features dual carburetors and a Tri-Mil exhaust system.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle. Corrosion on underbody components can be viewed in the gallery.
The chassis number 119958924 shown above is consistent with a 1969 Volkswagen Beetle and corresponds to the VIN displayed on the California title.
