Vehicle Overview
Ended on Bring a Trailer Auctions : 3.6L-Powered 1977 Porsche 911S Coupe This 1977 Porsche 911S coupe was acquired by the current owner approximately two years ago and subsequently refurbished and modified. Work involved a repaint in blue with white Carrera graphics as well as installation of a replacement 3.6-liter M64 flat-six mated to a five-speed manual transaxle. Additional equipment includes 16? Fuchs-style wheels, H4 headlights, fog lights, a front spoiler, a ducktail rear decklid, and front sport seats trimmed in black leather with patterned cloth inserts. This modified 911S is offered on dealer consignment with a clean California title. The car is said to have been refinished in Aetna Blue with white Carrera side script as part of the aforementioned refurbishment. Various seals and a number of trim components were replaced at that time, and further exterior details include a front spoiler, a ducktail rear decklid, a polished left mirror, black-finished window trim, fog lights, H4 headlights, and European-style rear bumperettes. Black 16? Maxilite Fuchs-style wheels feature silver lips and are mounted with Pirelli P4 Persist tires that measure 205/55 up front and 225/60 out back, while a space-saver spare is stored in the front trunk compartment. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes, and the brake booster, master cylinder, and wheel bearings were replaced during the refurbishment. Turbo tie rod ends were also installed at that time, while the anti-roll bar and front control arm bushings were replaced in preparation for the sale. The reupholstered interior features a pair of Recaro sport seats trimmed in black leather with blue patterned cloth inserts that extend to the door panels and rear jump seats. The ceiling wears a perforated white headliner, while the floors are covered with gray squareweave carpets. A heater/defroster and three-point seatbelts are also equipped. The three-spoke steering wheel is wrapped in black leather and fronts a central 8k-rpm tachometer, a replacement 170-mph speedometer, a pair of combination gauges, and a VDO clock with a quartz movement. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 132 miles, and total mileage is unknown. The replacement 3.6-liter M64 flat-six case is stamped with serial number ?62L05782?, which corresponds with a unit designated for a 1990 911 Carrera 2/4. The engine received a top-end overhaul before being installed as part of the aforementioned refurbishment in 2023. Equipment includes ARP head studs, a Carrera-style oil cooler, a conical air filter, and an RS-style single-belt fan pulley. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Type 915/61 five-speed manual transaxle that was resealed in May 2023. A Patrick Motorsports clutch and flywheel were also installed along with a dual-outlet muffler. The selling dealer states that the car cannot pass a California emissions test, therefore it cannot be sold to an in-state private party buyer.
