Vehicle Overview
1973 Porsche 914 2.0
This 1973 Porsche 914 was sold new at Bob Hagestad Porsche-Audi in Lakewood, Colorado, and it is powered by a 2.0-liter flat-four that has been fitted with dual Weber carburetors, K&N air filters, and a front oil cooler. The car is finished in blue over black vinyl, and it is equipped with a five-speed manual transaxle, 15? Fuchs alloy wheels, a removable Targa top, LED exterior lighting, two-way adjustable seats, and a center console with auxiliary gauges. The spark plugs were replaced in May 2014, and the alternator, voltage regulator, and valve cover gaskets were changed in August 2018. This 914 is now offered on dealer consignment in California with the owner’s manual, service records, spare parts, a stamped maintenance log, and a clean California title.
The car was originally finished in Alaska Blue Metallic (L96B) and has been repainted. Equipment includes pop-up headlights, fog lights, a black removable Targa top, dual side mirrors, and polished bumper trim. The black rocker panels and the Targa top were refinished by the selling dealer, and the exterior lights have been converted to LED bulbs. Imperfections include paint blemishes and bubbling in the left rocker panel.
The 15? Fuchs alloy wheels are mounted with Vredestein tires. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel discs, and the car is equipped with a rear sway bar.
The cabin features two-way adjustable bucket seats upholstered in black vinyl along with a color-coordinated dashboard and door panels. The cabin lighting does not work, and tears in the seats have been patched with tape. The carpets and floor mats do not match.
The four-spoke steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a central tachometer, a 120-mph speedometer, and a fuel level gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 60k miles, approximately 9k of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The mid-mounted 2.0L flat-four has been converted to use Weber carburetors, and it is equipped with a front oil cooler and K&N air filters. The spark plugs were replaced in May 2014, and the alternator, voltage regulator, and valve cover gaskets were changed in August 2018. An engine rebuilt was completed in 1990, and a related invoice is shown in the gallery below. The selling dealer notes the rear decklid struts need to be replaced.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle, and the clutch was replaced in April 2002. Additional photographs of the underside are shown in the gallery below.
The sale includes service records, manufacturer’s literature, and a stamped maintenance booklet.
