This 1963 Porsche 356B is a 1600 Super 90 cabriolet that has been refinished in black over red leather. Power comes from a 1.6-liter flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle, and equipment includes 15? wheels, finned drum brakes, a black soft top, a black boot cover, headrests, square-weave carpeting, and a Blaupunkt AM/FM radio. The current owner acquired the car in mid-2022. This 356 is now offered on dealer consignment with a copy of its Kardex, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and a California title.
The car was delivered new in Black (6213) and was refinished at some point. Karmann fender badges adorn both front fenders, although Reutter Karosserie manufactured the body. The car is equipped with a twin-grille engine cover, gold badging, and a black boot cover. The black convertible top is shown in its raised position in the photo gallery below.
Ventilated 15? chrome-finished wheels with Porsche-crest hubcaps are mounted with 165/80 Nankang CX-668 tires. Each corner is equipped with finned drum brakes, and a receipt from August 2022 indicates that the left-front brake line was replaced.
The car left the factory with red leather upholstery, and the interior also features a red dash cover, door panels, and square-weave carpeting. The bucket seats are equipped with headrests, and a Blaupunkt AM/FM radio is located under a VDO clock in the center of the dashboard.
A three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of green-letter VDO instrumentation that includes a 6k-rpm tachometer, a 120-mph speedometer, and a combination gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 66k miles, and true mileage is unknown.
The car received a 1.6-liter flat-four rated at 89 horsepower when new.
The engine stamping pictured above matches the number documented on the Kardex and the CoA.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a replacement four-speed manual gearbox. Additional photos of the underside are presented in the gallery.
A copy of the Kardex is provided above and indicates that the original owner resided in Los Angeles, California.
The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity lists the car’s original colors, powertrain numbers, and factory-delivered options as well as a production date of April 9, 1963.
The California title indicates “Title Only.”
