This 1974 Jaguar E-Type Series III roadster was acquired by the current owner in 1989, and service since 2022 has included overhauling the quadruple Stromberg carburetors and replacing the battery and fuel pumps. The car is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 linked with a three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. The car is finished in silver and equipped with a black soft top, top boot, and removable hardtop as well as four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, 15” knock-off wire wheels, black leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and an AM/FM radio. This Series III E-Type is now offered on dealer consignment as part of Mohr Imports’ Monterey Collection Sale with a clean California title.
The car is finished in silver and features a black soft top, top boot, and removable hardtop. Additional equipment includes uncovered headlights, a forward-hinged louvered hood, US-spec bumpers, a rear luggage rack, and a power antenna.
Wire-spoke 15? wheels are secured with knock-off spinners and mounted with 205/70 Maxxis MA-1 tires. The Series III E-Type was factory equipped with power steering, and stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with inboard-mounted rear rotors.
The cabin houses bucket seats upholstered in black leather as well as color-coordinated door panels. Interior appointments include a push-button AM/FM radio, wind-up windows, and a locking glovebox. The air conditioning is inoperable.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline. An analog clock and readouts for voltage, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level are mounted in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 5k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership.
The 5.3-liter V12 was rated at 241 horsepower and 285 lb-ft of torque when new. Service in 2022 included overhauling the quadruple Stromberg carburetors, repairing wiring to the alternator, and replacing the battery, fuel pumps, and cooling fan sensor.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. Corrosion on underside components is shown in the gallery below.
