This 1957 Jaguar XK150 is a left-hand-drive fixed-head coupe that was converted to a convertible under previous ownership. It is finished in red over black leather upholstery, and power is provided by a replacement 3.8-liter inline-six paired with a five-speed manual transmission. Additional equipment includes a black soft top, Dayton 16? wire-spoke wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, triple SU carburetors, a stainless steel exhaust system, chrome bumpers, burl wood trim, and a Moto-Lita wood-rimmed steering wheel. The car was reportedly exported to England in 1990 before returning to the US in 1998 and was acquired by the current owner in 2021. This modified XK150 is offered at no reserve on dealer consignment as part of the Mohr Imports Monterey Collection Sale with a tool kit and a clean California title that lists the vehicle as a 1959 model year.
The car began life as a fixed-head coupe and was converted into a drophead coupe-style convertible under previous ownership. The exterior was then refinished in Carmen Red, and details include a black soft top, side air intake vents, fender-mounted turn signals, dual side mirrors, a locking fuel-filler door, and chrome bumpers with overriders. The car was reportedly stolen in October 1998 and subsequently recovered. Inconsistent panel gaps are notes on the left-rear quarter panel.
Chrome-finished 16? wire wheels secured via two-eared knock-offs have been added and are mounted with 185-series Avon Turbosteel radial tires. A full-size spare is stored under the trunk floor. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes.
The cabin features individual front seats and rear jump seats that have been re-trimmed in black leather with a color-coordinated dash topper, door panels, and carpets. Burl wood veneer adorns the dashboard and glove box lid, and additional wood trim has been added to the doors. Amenities include a wood shift knob, a dash-mounted rearview mirror, lap belts, and a heater.
The four-spoke Moto-Lita wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts central Smiths instrumentation consisting of a tachometer with a 5,500-rpm redline and an inset clock accompanied by a 140-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 51k miles, and true mileage is unknown.
The 3.8-liter DOHC inline-six was installed in 2011 under previous ownership after being rebuilt with replacement pistons, a front crankshaft lip seal conversion, and a replacement “C-Type” cylinder head. Additional equipment includes triple SU carburetors, an aluminum radiator with an electric fan, replacement spark plug wires, and a stainless steel exhaust system and headers.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission that was reportedly sourced from a Jaguar XJS and installed under previous ownership. Additional photos of the underside are provided in the image gallery.
A tool roll and knock-off hammer are included in the sale.
