This 1955 Bentley R Type Saloon is in white with grey leather.

A right hand drive example.  

Just over 2300 hand built R Type’s were produced over a three year period. This car being produced towards the end of that time meant that it had some of the improvements the car received as production progressed.

Powered by a 4566 cc Rolls Royce 6 cylinder, overhead inlet, side exhaust valve and twin SU carburetors. A  General Motors-sourced Hydra-Matic automatic gearbox, which was the first time an auto ‘box had been fitted to a Bentley, was a very welcome option.

This R Type has been in the same ownership since 1985!  Always serviced and maintained here locally.

Prior engine rebuild by A Spranza Motors in the 1990's.

Paint is showing signs of its age but overall presentable. Some grazing and chips.  Even consistency on color.

Factory sunroof.

Interior leather shows some patina but is still supple. Wood is in nice condition and shows well. Gauges are in good working order. Nice headliner, door panels and carpets.

Recent service performed in July 2015 at 100,234:
- Replaced valve cover gaskets, side cover gaskets and checked valve clearances.
- Mounted and balanced 4 new tires.
- Repaired faulty fuel tank sending unit.
- Installed new Voltage Regulator.
- Lube oil and minor tune up
